Although most of the keys in memory, unfamiliar keys will slow down just like speed bumps in the freeway. your focus will be broken as your eyes are taken away from the screen to look at the keyboard. as well as time also wasted. all you have to do is keep your eyes on the screen and your fingers moving to the correct keys without thinking.it takes practice to achieve this kind of flow. The better you can do it, the faster you will be
Prepare on Your Workspace and Typing Area
The major thing is you will need to begin with getting a clean workspace and environment, appropriately ventilated, and comfortable. Also, for optimal typing, you should get a table and not out your laptop or computer on your lap.
If you will be working for an extended period, make sure that you’re comfortable.
Sitting posture for typing
If you want to type well and fast, the correct posture will be seated, back straight-backed
- remember to Sit straight and keep your back straight.
- Keep your elbows bent at the right angle.
- Face the screen with your head slightly tilted forward.
- Keep at least 45 – 70 cm of distance between your eyes and the screen.
Home row position
put your fingers on the ASDF and JKL; keys which are located in the middle row of the letter keys in the keyboard. This row is called HOME ROW because you always start from these keys and always return to them.
F and J keys under your index fingers should have a raised line on them to aide in finding these keys without looking.
Close Your Eyes and Say the Keys out Loud as You Press Them
This is a great way to get to know the positions of these letters is to look away from them and directly at the screen. Then, pronounce the keys as you press them and see if you’re correct. This step will help you to memorize the keys, and it can easily help you to practice key positions and type fast
Don’t look at the keys when you type. Just slide your fingers around until they find the home row marking.
Limit your hand and finger movement only to what is necessary to press a specific key. Keep your hands and fingers close to the base position. This improves typing speed and reduces stress on the hands.
Pay attention to ring fingers and little fingers, since they are considerably underdeveloped.
Practice, Practice, Practice
Mastering the touch typing technique will prove to be a bit finicky, but once your posture is up and you get your fingers where they should be, you can only improve by practicing.
Spare some time on a daily basis to practice and master both accuracy and speed. With continuous practice, you will also notice that you make fewer errors with time.
